One of the first things I was told when we moved to Lana'i was: if the water tank was hidden by clouds, there would be no flights coming in. This is because the water tank is situated at about the same elevation as the airport which operates under Visual Flight Rules--cloud on the runway means "no can see". Happy to report there were no flight delays on this day!
