I've driven by the Kihei Canoe Club so many times over the years, and I felt like the 2023 Paint Maui plein air event was the perfect time to explore the grounds. As the sun rose, the red and yellow of the canoes became brighter and brighter. One of the canoes was named "Manu Kai" ("sea bird")...a perfect title for this painting!
